Fitting Components
and accessories
A bike fit often involves changing out one or more components to improve your comfort or function.
Saddles, stems, handlebars, aerobars, bar tape, cycling shoes, cleats, insoles, pedal spacers, and cleat shims are items we stock or can order in.
You can view some of the fit related items we have in stock HERE- this just goes to search
Some of the products and brands we carry or can access are listed below
Saddles
Saddles for Tri, Road and Mtb. Brands include: BiSaddle, Ergon, Form, ISM, InfinityBikeSeat, NinetyK, Prologo, Selle Anatomica, Selle SMP, Origin8, Shimano (Pro).
Our saddle range is regularly reviewed and updated based on rider feedback and our saddle fitting outcomes. We DO NOT have saddles from Trek (Bontrager) or Specialized as BikeFitr is not a retailer for these bike brands.
Try out multipe different saddles during the fitting process. BikeFitr has more current saddle models than any other bike fitter in the state.
Saddles vary in price from $80 to $300.
Handlebars, Aerobars, Stems
Road bars come in widths ranging from 36cm to 46cm and with different reach profiles.
Tri bars have evolved a lot in design recently, and new bars offer far more fit adjustment than old bars.
Stems from Origin8, Zipp, Pro, FSA
Road bars from Zipp and Shimano Pro
Tri bars from Profile Design
MTB bars by request
Cranksets
Selecting the appropriate crankarm length is often an important part of a bike fit, and the shorter your legs the more important that becomes. For an indepth discussion on this topic, see our article here.
We can test crank length using the Fit Bike or an installable and rideable adjustable fitter crankset.
Given the wide variety of crankset options, we rarely stock them, but will make recommendations and will either order in or provide guidance for a crankset from Shimano, Sram, Rotor, Canfield, Appleman or Speed and Comfort (Cobb)
Shoes
Good quality cycling shoes that fit well in length AND width are important for your cycling enjoyment.
Lake Cycling Shoes are some of the best out there. Using their specific measuring system we can assess and order in a model of your choice which is guaranteed to be a great fit. We are also a dealer for Bont and Strong Feet Athletics to give you even more options.
For the ultimate in cycling shoe fit and performance, BikeFitr recommend Lore custom shoes.
We an help you identify and buy new shoes, and set up cleats and make other important adjustments.
Insoles
No cycling shoe comes with a decent insole – as the manufacturer expects you to toss them away and insert something more appropriate for your foot type.
An aftermarket insole is one of the best upgrades you offer for your shoes and feet, assuming you have appropriate shoes.
We offer cycling specific insoles from Currex and G8 Performance to upgrade your cycling shoes for improved foot comfort, stability and energy transfer.
Pedals, Spacers, Wedges and Shims
Some cyclists need adjustments to their pedaling stance or platform with cleat wedges or shims, cleat extender plates, or pedal extenders (spacers).
If you know what you need from a previous fit session, you can purchase wedges, shims, cleat or pedal extenders from online equipment supplier Fit Kit Systems, sister business to BikeFitr.

Hello, I’m Bill.
Hello, my name is John Higgins. I have been cycling for 50+ years (I’m older than you think, but not ancient) and have direct experience with many different styles of bikes and riding including road, mountain and touring bikes. I’ve been a regular bike commuter, a bikepacker and gravel grinder before they were a thing, and competitive racer on both road and mountain bikes.
