Sizing and Fitting. They are not the same and one comes before the other. A cyclist recently contacted me to arrange a fit for a new tri bike he was about to buy. “STOP right there” I said, especially when he mentioned that the bike shop staff didn’t actually know much about tri bikes. “Come and see me so I can figure out what SIZE bike will suit you best, before you buy it.” A good fit is much easier to achieve on a bike the correct size and geometry for a cyclist, than one that is not. In fact, the wrong size bike can make a good fit the impossible dream. When you are shopping for a new bike make sure you buy a bike that is the right size for you. If the size is not right, do not be influenced into buying it by brand, components, model or price. None of that compensates for the wrong size.
